Sir/Mam,

I wanted to file a Nil Return for December, 2024 on gst[dot]gov[dot]in and the due date to file it was 22nd January, 2025. However, whenever I tried to do so, error messages were shown. I had already raised a complaint on 17th January, i.e. 5 days prior to the due date that I am not able to do so. I got their reply in an email on 22nd January, 2025 where a resolution was provided telling me to clear the history and cache in my browser and then try to file a Nil Return. I did that but still it showed the same error messages. I called the helpline number and after a few unsuccessful troubleshooting steps the error still persisted.

Then I was told by the executive on call to raise another complaint and on the same day i.e. on 22nd January, 2025 I registered another complaint in their Grievance portal. On 27th January, 2025 i.e. after 5 days again I was provided another troubleshooting process which a layman like me can hardly understand. After that again I called the helpline number and I was guided with a few more steps to find a solution but it failed this time too. I dialed the helpline number and like the previous executive I was again told to raise another complaint in the portal.

So I raised a third complaint regarding this in their portal. Only on 30th January, 2025 I was told to pay the late fee and then try to file again though that was also not my fault. That is because I had applied for GST and got the number on 25th November, 2024. I got SMSs that I should file a return for December, 2024 before the due date but didn't get the same for November, 2024 but I should have got it especially if I am new to the site. I never filed a return in the past. This was my first filing as I recently got my GST on 25th November, 2024. There are a thousand things on the site so it's not possible to know or ask everything. I thought that I need not file a return for no income or it should be filed yearly not monthly.

However, on the same day i.e. 30th January, 2025, I cleared the late fee and filed the Nil Return. However, I believe that this time definitely it was not my fault because I tried to file a Nil Return on 17th January. 2025 i.e. 5 days before the due date but it was them only who could not provide a solution for error messages while filing Nil Returns on time even though I gave them all the details and fully cooperated with them whose emails I can show you as proofs. I tried lodging a complaint on their site on 12th or 13th February, 2025 but each time I tried to lodge a complaint in Grievance Redressal Portal I got a message "Something went wrong, Please try again later"

Therefore, I sent an email to lodge my complaint on 15th February, 2025. I got a reply that they will not waive off the late fee.

Pls reply and take action on this ASAP because they will charge a late fee again for February, 2025 in March as there is delay again regardless of whether it is my fault or not. The due date was 20th February, 2025.

If you are not the right person who could assist me then I suppose that you can forward this mail to the correct authorities. So, pls atleast forward this mail to them.

My mobile number is 7042247789.
Regards,
Shailesh
